May 2009: Creating Possibilities

The next art exhibition was unveiled last week at a private view on 21 May. The charity art exhibition to raise awareness and funds for the Chalfont St Peter-based National Society for Epilepsy (NSE) will run throughout the summer months.

Many of the paintings on display have been created by artists who have personal experiences of epilepsy and are based at the NSE’s Art Therapy Centre.

David Stanning, senior partner at B P Collins, said: “We are delighted to be showing a collection of vibrant paintings by artists from the NSE, a long-standing client of this firm and an integral part of our community. The pioneering research and expert care that the NSE has provided to its residents for over 100 years sets a standard of innovation and care we should all aspire to. This event is an exclusive opportunity for guests to enjoy more than 30 original works of art in a relaxed and friendly environment.”

Graham Faulkner, chief executive of the NSE, added: “Art therapy plays an important part in the work we do and to be able to showcase the artists’ paintings at an exhibition like this makes it a very special occasion for all those taking part. The support we receive from B P Collins is very much appreciated and we’re very pleased to be involved with them in this event.”

Funds raised from the sale of paintings during the exhibition will be split between the artist and the charity.

National Epilepsy Week runs from May 17-23. The NSE is the UK’s leading epilepsy charity, for more information, please visit
