March 2009: Triumphant artiste!

We are delighted to announce that Juliette Palmer, one of our exhibiting artists, has sold her enchanting watercolour painting entitled 'Terrasson le Villedieu, Vesere River, France' to a visitor of the Chalfont Suite. Juliette has now replaced her sold painting with a new watercolour entitled 'The Romanesque Bridge at Nyons, Rhone Provencal, France' pictured below.

Over many years painting in watercolour, Juliette Palmer RBA has exhibited regularly with Royal Societies and Academies and many commercial galleries, as well as at local fund-raising or local community events. Her work has been regularly selected in major national competitions and she has received several prizes.

She was director of the Wooburn Festival Art Exhibition from 1996 to 1999. Her work has appeared in art magazines and manuals. She opens her studio at Melmott Lodge, The Pound, Cookham, during the last two weeks of June for Bucks Open Studios. Her work is drawing-based. She evocatively recreates strange and beautiful places that she has visited – medieval French villages, sun-baked Mediterranean or middle-eastern ancient places, gardens, rivers and, latterly, colourful English fishing harbours.
