March 2009: Gallery One Eleven Exhibition

Mike Perkins, whose painting entitled The Tap is currently proudly displayed in our Chalfont Suite, is exhibiting his work at Gallery One Eleven in Berkhamsted in March.

Local artist Mike is hosting a preview of his exhibition on Sunday 15 March 2009 between 2.30 pm and 5.00 pm.

Mike is a retired banker and now a painter working in his studio in Wingrave. He works principally in oils but also makes drawings in charcoal and mixed mediums.

His major preoccupation has been to portray the exclusive imagery presented by metal foundries - having visited several in England and Scotland, but also (with the assistance from the Arts Council) in the Czech Republic. He has mounted two successful exhibitions of the resultant paintings and some of his later works on the subject are to be presented here.

Alongside this mainstream subject, Mike has produced a wide range of work both in recall of places visited and also of abstract images derived from a variety of sources.

As a means of expanding his working methods and broadening his experience, Mike would actively consider opportunities to work as an Artist in Residence and equally would welcome the challenge of specific commissions
